The Acorn Project is a non-profit organisation working in forest school, community seed saving and nature based learning programmes that empower communities to take action in ecological restoration through reconnection with their local wild spaces through forest school , nature connection and skills share.
Our Vision:
The Acorn Project is a two thousand year project to restore the Oak forests of this land, acorn by acorn , and in doing so, also restore our human relationship with nature.We believe in community led action in ecological restoration.Over the seasons we aim to develop and grow our community seedsaving and tree nursery projects , learning and wellbeing programmes and work collaboratively towards larger rewilding programmes.
Our aims:
- To develop our human connection to nature for learning and wellbeing.
-Become a Community Supporter : Indiviiduals , families and groups can attend community acorn gathering events or take part in our community seedsaving training days and tree planting events.Or join our Skills register to offer technical support.
- Become a Community Partner: Foster an Acorn Tree Nursery , host a community seedsaving training event or attend a forest therapy event. Contact us to discuss ways for your organisation to get involved.
-Become a Practitioner Member: Forest School Practitioners can attend our community skillshare events and celebrations, share and access learning resources and avail of member discounts to our training events.
